Cal State LA commemorated the 1968 East Los Angeles Walkouts by honoring and remembering the student activists who walked and took a stand for the cause. The celebration examined the Chicano civil rights movement that took place 50 years ago that was the springboard, which established the education, personal and civil rights that Chicano students enjoy today.

 Brenda Andrade is a Journalism undergraduate at Cal State LA. She has four years of experience in the broadcasting field with a variety of work experience, which includes covering the red-carpet event at the 2017 Daytime Emmys for LA Style Magazine and KNEKT TV, to being published on Beyond the Interview online magazine. Andrade is also well-versed in a range of marketing and communication skills. Broadcasting has always been a passion for her, and she is happy to have turned it into a profession.
