CSULA Officers to Receive Body Cameras

Cal State LA students may see campus police wearing a new piece of equipment this year: Body Cameras. After the approval from the department of public safety, the body as well as dash cameras have been introduced on a trial bases. Cameras are to be supplied by the company Watch Guard, and Cal State LA’s IT department has been working on the handling of the footage. Alexandria Bell interviews sergeant Alan Nguyen to find out more.

Alexandrea Bell is a senior at Cal State LA. She was founding president of her sorority Delta Phi Epsilon, and is currently interning at CNN in Los Angeles. After graduation, she will be pursuing her master’s degree in Journalism at USC. Her ambitions include becoming a host for a news show, and starting a scholarship fund to help high school students attend college.
