The email also included the following preventative tips: lock all car the doors, do not leave any personal identification, and take all belongings. It is important to be aware of all surroundings. Student have been the main targets of this crime on campus, and even though it has not personally happened to a lot, some have shared their concerns to this crime.

Students, faculty and staff at Cal State L.A. can spend various hours or even a few minutes at school when they become a target for burglary. They leave their car behind and hope that nothing bad happens while they’re gone. Celeste, a Cal State L.A. student, says, “I’m not going to lie, it upsets me that people seek the easier way out of situations and decide to steal. It hasn’t happened to me, but it’s frustrating to have someone damage and steal what’s yours when you’ve worked hard for it.”

The Department of Public Safety is always available to help, so it is best to report any suspicious activity to them as soon as possible.
