You can say goodbye to, traffic, no parking, and cars full of crammed surf boards. Metrolink has just announced that you can now catch a train to catch a wave while carrying your board. Metrolink added storage compartments specifically for surfboards, which means that you’re now allowed to carry your boards with you (no longer than 6’4”) while you take the train to the beach. The program will allow chests, beach chairs, and umbrellas too.  The routes will run to popular surf spots in San Clemente and Oceanside. Beach goers can also take the Metrolink to L.A.’s Union Station and get a free transfer onto the Red/Purple Lines and the new Expo Line to the Santa Monica beaches. If that was not enough, Metrolink’s Weekend Day Pass gives you unlimited rides for only $10. So if you want to go to the beach and would like to avoid the headache of driving to the beach, leave your car, skip the weekend traffic, and ride Metrolink to the beach.
