In light of recent student housing protests against planned additional Winter-session residence fees, Housing and Residence Life has decided to waive the Winter break housing fee for all students that have indicated their desire to remain in campus housing during the break, according to a statement from Nancy Wada-McKee, Vice President for Student Life. This should come as a relief to many students who are currently scrambling for a place to live.

I hope this goes to serve as a real life political science example to the students when confronted by problems that the rich and powerful are unwilling to help them with and, the classic response is simply “what can we do about it?” It turns that quite a bit can be done about it, that’s why the establishment has highly paid PR firms working to convince us that we can’t! FREE Public Education and Housing would be an excellent investment in society that has been shown would pay off for itself many times over. Why we don’t have it has a-lot to do with the majority of people who support it having been convinced that it’s politically unattainable.
