Golden Eagles soar in weekend double header
Over the weekend, the Cal State LA baseball team faced Cal State San Marcos in a four game series matchup that included a double header on Saturday. The Golden Eagles were able to secure two big wins towards the series in the double header, with a high powered performance from the offense in the second game creating an 18-7 score differential on the day.
The team was led by seniors Johnny Pacheco and Matthew Piotrowski who both had impressive performances at the plate. Pacheco led the way in game one with two doubles and runs scored for the Golden Eagles in a close 6-5 victory. Piotrowski took over the second half of the day, with three home runs, a triple, and five runs batted in.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action at Cal State LA’s Reeder Field on Tuesday, March 21 against conference rival Cal State San Bernardino.
