Cal State LA women’s tennis took this Saturday off, but not by choice. It was game, set and match; the winner being rainy Southern California.
The Golden Eagles were set to play against the UC San Diego Tritons, but the Billie Jean King tennis complex was rained out. This is the third rainout for the women’s tennis team. There has been no official word as to when the matches would be made up.
The day off might have been a good thing for the Golden Eagles, as injury forced single No.1 Amanda Schneider to retire against Azusa Pacific University (APU).
After having grueling back-to-back grueling 4-hour battles, dropping both 4-3 against APU and Concordia-Irvine University earlier this week, rest would not be too bad.
The Golden Eagles are on a three match-losing streak falling under .500 to a 3-4 record. They will look to gain an advantage during a four-game home stretch these next couple weeks. They will return to action against Big Sky Division 1 Weber State on Wednesday, March 6 at home.
