La Santa Cecilia brought their signature fusion of cumbia, rock, bolero, and soul to the Luckman Theater at Cal State LA, filling the stage with energy and cultural pride. The band performed fan favorites such as “La Morena” and “Monedita” with Marisol “La Marisoul” Hernández captivating the crowd through her powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Towards the end of the night, students from Maqueos Music Academy, led by a CSULA alumni conductor, joined La Santa Cecilia for a special rendition of the song “Hojas en el Aire.” The evening was truly a beautiful celebration of music, identity, and community connection.
