Local news becomes even more important amid coronavirus crisis

NBC4 reporter Beverly White describes changes in news production

The coronavirus crisis has increased the demand for factual and timely news around the world and right here on Los Angeles’ Eastside.

It has also affected how that news is produced.

Some anchors, meteorologists and others are broadcasting live from their homes. You’ve probably seen news reporters on television interviewing people with 6-foot-poles.

NBC4 Reporter Beverly White, a recent guest speaker for Cal State LA’s journalism program, answered questions about that and others issues raised by students in the class, including Community News reporters.
