The coronavirus pandemic led many business around Los Angeles to lay off employees or shut down altogether.

Small business owners Doreen Nakama-Martinez and Adam Martinez, owners of East Los Musubi, talk about how they pivoted their Hawaiian kitchen pop-up and catering business.

Their advice is simple: Don’t lose hope, reach out to others in the community to learn and swap stories, and “treat others good.” The love you share will somehow find its way back to you.
