On Wednesday evening, The University-Student Union hosted the “U Got Talent” talent show at the U-SU Plaza on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Students showcased their abilities in front of a panel of judges for the opportunity to win three coveted prizes. The first place prize was Universal Studios passes, the second place prize was a Cal State LA parking pass, and the third place prize was the right to reserve a time at the U-SU game room.
Although there were numerous contestants with diverse skills, only three could take home the top prizes. Akela O’Neal, a comedian with a quick wit and a fast delivery took home third place for his efforts. Second place was given to Joey Arias. Arias is a street dancer with an impressive ability to contort his body during his dance routines. First place was awarded to Reine Saavedra, a singer who stunned the crowd with her renditions of Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter, and Goddess by Laufey.
