Los Angeles commemorated Mexican Independence on September 14th, 2025 by throwing a parade. LA city mayor Karen Bass led the event, starting from the corner of Mednik Ave and Cesar Chavez Ave. Despite its name the parade was a broader celebration of Latino culture. Vendors sold flags from a variety of different countries. Marchers as well came from an assortment of backgrounds. The march officially took place at 10:00 a.m. The parade was a recognition of the large Latino community in LA. Karen Bass reiterated at the event that “We are a city of immigrants.”
