Midnight Madness brought Cal State LA athletes and students together to celebrate the start of basketball season. “We need to get this place packed!” exclaimed men’s head coach Jim Saia Tuesday evening. Held in the university gym, the event started at 7 p.m. where both men and women’s players were announced. Attendees got to watch athletes compete in a 3-point shootout, dunk contest, followed by a dance competition, as well as skirmishes between coaching staff and athletes. The event featured the Halisi Steppers and Cal State LA cheerleaders on and off the court. Men and Women’s Basketball starts Nov. 8 against Biola University.
