With the progress of a coronavirus vaccine, an anticipated return to in-person courses looks possible, according to CSU Chancellor-select Joseph Castro.
“We are approaching planning for the 2021 fall term with the goal of having the majority of our on-campus experiences returning,” said Castro in a statement from the CSU.
Cal State LA’s Public Affairs and Communications office echoed the messaged in an email: “Cal State LA is planning for an anticipated return to in-person classes in Fall 2021.”
The news comes on the heels of the decision to extend application deadlines to Dec. 15 for transfers and high school students.
It is not yet clear if Summer 2021 will be in-person as the CSU system will decide closer to registration deadlines.
Chancellor Timothy White noted that it has been critical to provide advance notice to the Cal State community and is beginning to see “light at the end of the tunnel” during this pandemic.
