Cal State LA Journalism’s 2026 CCMA conference round up

From March 5-7, members of the University Times staff as well as Diablos Media attended the California College Media Association (CCMA) conference in San Francisco, California. Members attended workshops and other keynotes/panels to learn from industry experts. Four of our attendees also held their own panel on Thursday, March 5 to talk about covering community news and shared their experience working as a beat reporter. Both teams managed to bring home six awards from CCMA’s mail-in competitions which comprised work from both the Spring and Fall 2025 semesters.
